How To Join Army Dental Corps
The Army Dental Corps is a specialist regiment of dentists. There is a reason why the dentists are not merged with Army Medical Core (AMC) and have a regiment of their own.
During combat operations a soldier is protected with helmet and bulletproof vest and the face and neck are the exposed areas, and many times soldiers get hit by bullet on their face or neck and that is when the dentist comes into play. After taking a hit the face gets distorted and what generally happens then that is any of the teeth or any other bone obstructs the wind pipe which results in choking and severe lack of breath. The army dentists are specially trained for these incidents, so that the life of soldier can be saved and due to the preliminary treatment provided by them, the process of facial reconstruction becomes easier.
