The Indian Military Nursing Services also known as MNS is a part of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) of the Indian Army. Military Candidates will be appointed in the “Military Nursing Service, under the Terms and Conditions laid down for grant of permanent commission/ Short Service Commission.” by The Honorable President of India. Female candidates who like to complete B.Sc nursing course at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Service. Indian army publishes the MNS notification and exam date time to time. Interested female candidates can apply for this entry. Candidates will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and a monthly stipend as per existing Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time. know about MNS Exam Syllabus


Age Limit – Age between 17 to 25 years

Educational Qualification – Only female candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible to apply. They should have scored an aggregate of not less than 50 % marks in the final exams and should have passed the exam in the first attempt. Those who have passed such examinations as private students or with compartment in any subject or candidates from open schools are NOT ELIGIBLE.

Physical Standards – The minimum height of the female candidates should not be less than 148 cm. Those who belong to Scheduled Tribes, Western Himalayan region and Eastern Himalayan region will get 5 cm relaxation in the height. Selection procedure

The selection will be based on the merit of the candidate at an All India level. A written objective type of examination will be conducted in February/ March every year, at certain selected centers.

Successful candidates will be called for an interview at selected centers in the month of April/May each year. Candidates must be declared medically fit. The fitness will be determined by a Medical Board of Military Medical Officers.

Merit listed candidates based on the interview and medical fitness will be called for B. Sc. (Nursing) course. The students undergoing B. Sc. nursing training will be granted permanent and Short Service Commission at a ratio of 60:40 based on their merit.

Exam Pattern

The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The exam will have objective-type questions.

How to apply

Visit the official website of the Indian Army www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, Click on the ‘Officers entry apply/ login’ tab to register and apply. For new registration, candidates can click on ‘Registration’ Select the ‘Continue’ tab and complete the registration process by filling the mandatory fields (Aadhaar/ enrolment no, candidate name, father/ guardian name, mother’s name, date of birth and mobile no) and ‘Submit’Now, provide the OTP received on your registered email ID and select the ‘Submit’ tab to continue. The next step is to fill the remaining mandatory fields and set the password. Now, click on the ‘Save’ button to continue. Proceed with ‘Communication Details’ and hit the ‘Update’ button then ‘Save & Continue’. The registration process is done now. Candidates have to click on the ‘OK’ button as a pop-up message ‘Record saved successfully’ appears. Click on ‘Apply Online’ on the dashboard to fill the online application form here, candidates have to complete the remaining mandatory fields, upload signature and photo (keeping the specifications as prescribed) then ‘Save & Continue’ the fil all details then take a look at all the details, click on the ‘Edit’ button if required other then if your all details are correct so hit on ‘Submit Now’ button. The next thing that applicants have to do is to release the payment through the link given on the payment screen. “Candidates are requested to make payment only after activation of the link which will take between 24-48 hours after registration” After successful payment, enter the ‘DU reference number’ (provided by the bank after successful payment), select the written test centre and click on ‘Submit’ to complete the application process then download application PDF for future reference.
